asked on

Laptop Screen is starting to flicker slightly AGAIN - after buying a new screen.

I recently had a screen die on me - I asked about this in this question here.

I bought a new screen and it has worked well for a while.  But I do not use this laptop anymore so I have not used it much.

I have noticed that the screen is flashing/flickering a little bit again today.

Can it be that there is something that is causing the screen to do this and eventually will kill this screen too?

Does it flicker when it's running on the battery? If not you might have a failing AC adapter.

I did the replacing and I just replaced the screen.  Inverter and everything else was left untouched - except I rooted around in there to get the screen case off.

The thing is - that this flicker was the only thing I noticed last time and I am worried that it is what caused my screen to die last time.

@ebdedb - I have never used the battery on this one.  It is possible, at the moment the flicker does not happen often enough to be able to test that through trial and error.

Thank you asidu,  That is what I was looking for.  A few home tests I can do.  I actually only bought a screen in November and I dont think I put it in until late decemeber.  So it is as good as new.

I will do the battery thing.  But I am away for a week now.

I appreciate your help guys I will allocate some points and close.  If I really get a "reliable" problem I will be back.
Accepted my response as an answer to bring attention to the fact that issue was not resolved, but all suggestions above were good.
