Need help determining compatible motherboard replacement for laptop HP Pavillion DV9700 (9812us)

Hello Experts.  I am hoping you can help me determine what is an acceptable motherboard replacement for my HP DV9700 (dv9812us) laptop.  I have read from your posts to others that I need to make sure the Bios and Chipset match my original motherboard's configuration, so I pulled out all the manuals and believe I have found the needed info.  The computer cycles on and off so I cannot get into the BIOS to view any details which is why I am relying on the documentation and Google search of the product and serial #.

Here are the details on my laptop.  It is an HP Pavillion entertainment series machine - dv9700 (9812us).  It has an AMD Turion 64 x2 Mobile processor - model # AMD TL-60.  It supports Socket S! (S1g1) and the frequency (MHZ) is 2000.  It only supports 4GB Ram and currently has installed 3GB.  It has 128 KB level 1 cache, from 512 KB to 1 MB level 2 cache.

I am having trouble finding something I know is compatible.  Could be my inexperience on motherboards or lack of info provided on store sites or both.  Not sure.  If you can help me identify something you know is compatible I would be so thankful.  I just don't want to mess up this purchase if I can avoid it.

Thank you!

I think all of the dv9000 series mb's are the same.  To be sure, call up HP and get a part number.  Then you can search for the replacement on Ebay or something.

Hi,

Your motherboard has probably suffered from a failure of the Nvidia graphics card - on DV9000s this was using the inbuilt 6100 series card and on others, it used a separate 7600 Go card - later models used the 8400 series discrete cards, I believe.

Check this to see if your laptop is affected:
