Driver for X220
Update my X220 to Window 8.1. One of the device "PCI Serial Port" can't be detected.
Go to the lenovo and it says that window 8.1 will use a "Inbox Driver" for modem / Bluetooth. However, it can't be detected on my machine. Any idea ?
Inaddition, those function key Fn + F2 - 8 can't be used, although I have already installed Power Management as recommended. Any idea ?

Those drivers have been installed. Fn + Fx can work but for wireless Fn + F5, it can enable the Lenovo WiFi menu..
ok you had said that your FN keys were not working. Now make sure that B/Tooth is active and then run the System Update tool so it can scan your system for driver and Lenovo app updates. Since you manually installed Win 8, you may need to pull down some apps from the website, as my experience tells me that the updater can only work with what it has, it doesn't fill in the blanks, so you might need to scroll down the downloads page for your laptop ensuring you have all the basics covered.
Bluetooth updates are normally quite large, around 200-240Mb, once you have that installed, the modem driver may then fix itself and install this 'inbox driver'

I have already installed the drivers from Lenovo page but it can't fix the wireless button. Tks
so your FN+F5 does not work (no pop-up Lenovo control window) for Wi-Fi or BT?? You need this added to make it work -- Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit), Version: 3.87.0000

what does the Lenovo System Update v5.06 program say about any patches/updates outstanding, I'm pretty sure if you then add the Intel Wi-Fi pack, it will then link with the HFI package, and FN+F5 will work?

have you updated the BIOS to v2.02, and is the other Lenovo packages installed ok (Fingerprint reader if you have it, Wireless/Ethernet/Sound/In tel Storage)?

do your Hotkeys work? does your System Update come up as no updates found (all up to date)?
Is your 'Inbox Driver' or Device Manager happy that everything is installed -- no yellow triangles?

System Update doesn't come with any update. Only F5 doesn't work. F7 (screen projection) works fine.
Device manager don't have yellow icon.

ok so at least DM is happy. now on you green LED lights under your screen, is Wi-Fi and BT enabled/lit, or just one or the other (our X220's all run Win 7 here, so i'm flying blind on this with you!).
I do remember reading about Win 8 & the radio fucntion FN+F5 sometimes activates Airplane mode or something, and not the Lenovo software like its supposed to, i will see if i can find the forum post. In the meantime, can you go to C:\Program Files\Lenovo\HOTKEY and run the TPFNF5.exe file that should be in there to see if the OSD runs like before?
[you may need to install the Hotkeys app in Windows 7 compatibility mode to get the EXE if its missing, C:\DRIVERS\WIN\HOTKEY and change SETUP.EXE to Win 7 mode]

Yes, both Wi-Fi and BT lit.
Under C:\DRIVERS\HOTKEY\OSD\F5-8 M, clicking the TpFnF5 and OSD can be displayed.
However, pressing F5 don't have response. I have already installed "Hotkey Features Integration - 8jvu39ww.exe" What do I miss ?

have you installed all the required drivers to your exact model -- like fingerprint reader, chipset, storage driver and the Thinkvantage Tools (access connections etc) to help you complete the Lenovo side of the build??
