Illegal operation

Whenever I try to open a photo in Aobe PotoDeluxe, either from the hard drive or from my zip drive, I get the following message:

I've tried reinstalling photoDeluxe but that doesn't work. I had a new hard drive installed a few months ago and had to install PhotoDeluxe myself. I didn't have this problem with my old hard drive so I assume this is the cause.
