This question was posted many months ago with no solution.
I am reposting it with most of the original thread so that everybody can see what's been happening and previous suggestions can get the proper credit if something pans out.
PLEASE ! COMMENTS ONLY!
Here's the nutshell:
I am looking for 50-100(+) of the following motherboards:
3/4 Baby AT with Intel chipset.
Minimum (3) ISA slots & (1) PCI slot.
Pentium 100 CPU.
(I can work with higher CPU speeds if the motherboard is re-clockable to 100mhz, BUT must be Pentium)
Would be interested in motherboards with the above specs with no CPU.
(And just on the off chance...)
Motherboards with the above specs that DON'T require a power good signal from the power supply (as if those
existed anymore).
(previous thread follows)

Thanx,
I would prefer a large purchase of all of the same type, but I may have to settle for buying small quantities.
I will keep these in mind.

A retail store in Ann Arbor just got in a supply of computers that may satisfy your needs. Head to:
http://www.computeralley.com then head to their West store, and e-mail either Dwayne or Wes about your needs.
Another source in Ann Arbor is the University of Michigan property disposition, but I don't know how to tell you
to reach them. I normally just walk in and browse. They have hundreds of machines of this vintage for sale
cheap, on an "as is" basis.

Take a look online, e.g.
http://WWW.eBay.COM You can sometimes find "Dutch Auctions"
where multiple identical units,
e.g., motherboards, are offered for sale.

take a look at
www.usmicrocorp.com - They may have what you are looking for, and they can arrange shipping,
etc. The person you want to contact is Jim Booth. I've done some business with them and they are very good.

wait! i know. there are some companies shipping old PC to be sold here in my country. now if only you really are
interested i can contact that "secondhand computer shop" here and ask them where they got it. ill ask them for
the source and maybe they can help you with it. rumors told me, that this store buys second hand PC's from
your country's schools and universities. im from Asia Pacific.

rscafe> thanks. Any info would be helpful.
I'm not too optimistic, though.
I've tried the local universities (Texas) and it looks pretty glum.
[I have this overpowering urge to look up the guy who used to work for our company and was supposed to buy
150 of these MB's when they were available new. I am spending my free time dreaming up various ways to
cause him much misery for eons.]

We have 5 printer systems that are used by a US gov't agency.
The bottom line of the operating system is a PC interface with a Motorola 68000 cpu board.
Due to a lack of...well, lets just say an executive that used to be with our company failed to purchase inventory
when it was available.
Due to many factors, we are pretty much locked into certain (now obsolete) hardware requirements.
I've been stockpiling under 2GB hdd's, and other hard to find items.
These mb's are one.
Just to give you an idea of what I'm up against:
I'm also looking for motherboards with these specs that DON'T require a "power good" signal from the power
supply !!!!!
I might as well be looking for the lost city of El Dorado.
I'm going to kick up the points in hopes that somebody can give me a good link.
So far nothing has panned out.
HEEELPPP! :-)

Hey jimat,
I think ebay is prolly your best bet. I just looked there for you. Didn't find anybody that was selling 50-100
motherboards, but did see 2 or 3 people that were selling 10 motherboards in one lot. I would say it is worth
checking out for you. Hope you have better luck soon.

Mikey2471,
If you read the transcript carefully, you'll see that Otta has already given the ebay suggestion. Normally you
don't set something as an "answer" around here until you are sure that it does (rather than might) solve the
question at hand. I know, since you are new around here, that you don't fully understand the culture yet, so let
me summarize a couple of points:
- don't repeat someone else's comment as your proposed answer.
- don't propose an answer until you are sure it actually solves the problem put forth in the question.

I suggest you fake the power good signal, just wire it to the 5v, not a big mod, you can get those auto type,
crimp on wire taps and wire a few dozen up to the contact inserts that go in an AT power plug and then you
have a 10 second field patch when a new motherboard is put in. It won't take you more than half an hour to
make a good stock of these.
Motherboards, old, hmmm
these guys may have a good stock..
http://www.comp-recycle.com/bindex.htm , see the used motherboards section.
Funny you should mention Dallas, Texas, there is a guy on ebay from Texas who is always selling off large
stocks of motherboards 50 at a time, will post more details as I find/remember.
With buying that quantity, why don't you deal direct with pcware or pinegroup or someone in the budget mobo
market who still makes lower spec boards and pay wholesale price on them.

Road> The mb's that don't need a power good signal are connected to power supplies that don't produce a
power good signal. Old stuff. Headache!
Your link to comp-recycle looks like it has promise.
I may order a couple to see if they'll work.
I will keep you posted. Have patience... I will return. I'm up to my ears in another set of alligators at the

Hi again, I just found out that a lot of legacy Bioteq/Biostar motherboards have a power good enable and
disable jumper, see here for thier web sites, they have manuals online for everything back to 386, but they take
a little digging for.
