Old computer won't boot.

Hi,
I bought an old computer, it has a pentium chip in it, not sure what speed, but the cd drive says quad speed on it.
I can't get the machine to boot at all, won't display anything on the monitor.
I am not a beginner at this, just dont do it everyday, anyway.. here is what i have tried...

Removed all cards except video card.
Tried another video card.
Tried several slots with each video card.
Tried 3 different monitors.
Replaced memory.
Removed cd drive from ide0
Re-seated ide cable
Removed floppy drive cable.

I hear the hard drive spin up, so I assume that the motherboard is not fried.
I never get any display on the screen, but there are 3 lights on the front of the box that light up, and then 2 of them go out... the keyboard lights flash, but all i get is a blank screeen.

I am assuming that the processor is fried, does anyone have anything I can do to test it, other than put it in another machine?

P.S., i bought the machine for $12.00.
