AMD Athlon and motherboard/s?

I want to build computer with AMD Athlon for the first time
(departing from Intel).

I need advice wich motherboard/s showed to be the best to work with Athlon?

(If you have info on how to build - which components to use the best - whole Athlon "dream" comp for network purposes that I would appreciate too.)
