for a friend I am trying to solve a problem while replacing the onboard graphics adapter with a PCI S3/daytona graphics card. Windows98 notices 2 adapters and I cannot disable the onboard adapter, it keeps coming back. Also in the BIOS there is no entry for this onboard video adapter. A "warm reboot" shows a black screen or very strange characters; actually turn the PC off and on again works OK and Windows starts "normally". Does anyone knows this mainboard JT586SV4 (I cannot find a manufacturer) and is there a way to disable the onboard adapter? The processor is a Pentium 133.

Thanks "jlauster" for your effort so far. From the link you mentioned and another link I discovered I now know a lot more about this mysterious board then before. From a collegue of mine I heard that a PCI video card automatically prevails above an onboard video. His tip was to remove both video cards in the Windows device manager and then reboot. Possibly Windows only finds the PCI card; but I still have to check this.
Here's a little more info about the manufacturer. Their domain name has been taken over by another party, so the only contact means I have found is by phone or letter. Hopefully you either speak Chinese, or there is someone there who speaks English or another language common to you both.
