Questions About CD-RW :))

hi :))

i'm totally new to CD-RW. I'm really confused. I'm wondering if you'd kindly respond to a number of questions?

before i purchased my CD-RW I would do the following to be able to install a program to my PC: i would download from the internet 2 files: one a .bin and the other a .cue file. then i used a program called "binchuck.exe" to turn these two files into a .ISO file. then i used a program called WinImage to "extract" from the .iso file the files that i need to use to install the program.

my questions are:

1. would you explain to me please, what was the procedure (described above) that i used to go through? what am i doing at each step?

2. what are .bin and .cue files?

3. what is a .iso file?

4. now that i have a CD-RW drive, is all i need the .iso file? do i use that .iso file to "burn" my CD? in other words, i don't now have to use WinImage, extract from the .iso, then "burn" my CD with those files, do i?

5. finally, what program do i use to burn? i have two programs on my pc: "DirectCD" and "Easy CD Creator v. 4.0" which one of these programs do i use to "burn" my cd?

i'm sorry for all these dumb questions :)) thank you.
