UPGRADE OPTIONS

HI

I have a AMD K6 266mhz system (not K6-2) running win 95 on 128 mb ram with 1.6 gig of free space(total of 4 gig). It has a generic 32x cd rom and a sb 64awe sound card and a 2 mb video ram and a 56 k win modem.

I recently bought and installed a sony 12x8x32 burner for my system. I have been able to burn only at 4x because of the limitation of my processor. Burning at any speed above 4x results in buffer underruns.

I would like to consider the option of upgrading my computer and comparing it to the cost of a complete system (not necessarily the most powerful system on the market)

I have two questions. First if I consider an upgrade of my computer performance what are the things I definetely would need to change?

And secondly what are the components that are not necessarily required but that you would recommend upgrading anyway??? Any comments on the approximated cost of your upgrade suggestions would also be appreciated.
