Browse All TopicsI am trying to optimize my hard drive using Norton utilities. It freezes at about the same place each time, and I have to re-boot.
Running Windows 98 disk Defrag program (Intel Optimizer)had the same result.
I tried Scan disk, and the drive passed, When I ran a full disk surface scan, however, the program froze at sector 401,699 and I have to reboot.
I assume I have a disk error at that location but it is not in a critical location, for the computer boots up and programs I have tried run just fine, and for some reason the disk utilities do not lock out that sector.
Is there another utility that might detect and correct the error? Or do I have another problem?
Thanks
