  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. RAM: DDR VS PC133

I'm putting together a new system and would like some input on DDR vs PC133. Normally I would jump on the "newer technology/&/faster" DDR but a couple things have given me pause...
1. the price of DDR seems to have come down a bit abnormally fast no? a 256 stick of DDR for $65 vs $59 for the PC133. Why so close if it's a no brainer.
2. My motherboard book says: "DDR uses additional power and ground lines. What's that really mean" Something tells me there's a catch with DDR. What's the catch?
Lastly, if DDR is 2.5V and SDRAM PC133 is 3.3V how is the DDR using more power?
