Ive took a 166mmx cpu out of a computer, and put a 233mmx cpu in its place. I wasnt sure myself this would work, but have been assured by a few people it will work.
The problem is it still registers it as a 166 on boot up. I know i probably have to change some jumpers about on the motherboard, but i havent got a clue.
I've no manual for the motherboard, so i'm relying on you people.

On most Pentium type motherboard there are jumpers for CPU multiplier and clock speed that must be set properly for the CPU to run at its rated speed. Hopefully your motherboard supports the P233 settings.
Tell us what motherboard make/model this is and perhaps a specific recommendation can be made.
