I have a problem.
I have 2 hard disc - first with WinXP and second with win98. And I want to boot XP or win98 by my choice
boot.ini on first HDD is
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdi
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)par
but I can't boot win98
I tried to add string to boot.ini
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)par
or
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)par
or write boot sector to file and put it on HDD1 with XP and add string
c:\w98.bin = "Win98"
and all this ways did't help me.
Any suggestions? :)

When you get tired of fighting with this from a software angle you can take the easy route and purchase a piece of hardware called TriOS from www.tigerdirect.com
This will allow you to switch between hard drives at boot time.

I believe that the hard drive or partition that has win98 must be the C drive and winXP can be on D drive.This is the only way you can get multiboot without a boot manager software.
