The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. New LCD, new issues, font size in Internet Explorer?

I just bought a new 171V Samsung. They tell me the best resolution is running at something like 1280 x 1024. When I try this I need a telescope to see my fonts and icons on my desktop then when I go to the net via Internet Explorer I run into the same smallness issues. I have tried increasing the font size from the control panel and it does do this but it does me no good on the web. Even if I set the fonts in Internet Explorer at the largest setting they appear to small as does everything else. If I have a hard time seeing things I am not sure that is the best resolution. If I can not change the settings to see the fonts well in the 1280 x 1024 mode, what good is the mode. Seems like I have to go the 800x600 in order to see things the way I like to see them but not sure I am getting all the good out of the monitor that way and as well think some of the fonts appear blotchy or light. One other thing. Should a brand new monitor have a dead pixel or 2? Doesn't seem right to spend 550.00 and have a dead pixel to me. Thanks again guys.
