Compaq Deskpro BIOS Beeping and Not Booting
The PC is a Compaq Deskpro EP 6400/10 (Pentium II). On switching on it beeps in the following pattern: One long, one short, one long, one short, pauses, one long, two short (7 beeps total) then hangs. There is a black screen, no Compaq logo or anything and the monitor light flashes green then goes to amber. The keyboard flashes caps lock.
I've taken the back off, checked connections and refreshed CMOS by reseating jumper. The BIOS ROM says it is "278781 -101 9921CBA G COMPAQ". That doesn't tell me if it is AMI or Phoenix. Plus I can't find any others that correspond to the sequence above. Please help.
