The PC is a Compaq Deskpro EP 6400/10 (Pentium II). On switching on it beeps in the following pattern: One long, one short, one long, one short, pauses, one long, two short (7 beeps total) then hangs. There is a black screen, no Compaq logo or anything and the monitor light flashes green then goes to amber. The keyboard flashes caps lock.<br />

I've taken the back off, checked connections and refreshed CMOS by reseating jumper. The BIOS ROM says it is &quot;278781 -101 &nbsp;9921CBA G &nbsp;COMPAQ&quot;. That doesn't tell me if it is AMI or Phoenix. Plus I can't find any others that correspond to the sequence above. Please help.
