hi DrZaius,
Both 9800 and 9800 pro use the R350 chip, whcih is a modified R300 chip (9500 and 9700 are based on this chip).  The R350 is more efficient than R300 by improving its Hyper-Z implementation and color compression algorithms.  The R350 also has higher clock!  So, the main difference and hugh price gap between 9800 and 9800 pro is the clockspeed.

some dude posted a million photos of his Radeon 9700. christ!

Well, i think i will get the pro. I would love to see a benchmark of both cards on half-life 2
but it's better to be safe than sorry (and poor)
