Once a month we have a need to remotely reboot our servers. The reboot works fine but we can't reconnect via terminal services until the administrator logs in, which requires someone to be there.
I have a Compaq KVM switch, model 400338-001, the 2 X 8 configuration. This allows two keyboards and mice to control multiple kvm switches. We are only using one of the ports to control the KVM. If we could connect a remote control device to the 2nd set of kvm ports, our problem would be solved. Anyone have experience with this.
Note: I have used Compaq's RIM (remote insight manager boards) in the past and would like to avoid the complication and expense of getting boards for each of our 8 servers.
Thanks
