The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. CD-ROM related stuff

Hi!!

I have windows XP Pro and am interested in buying a cd-writer. Once I attach the cd-writer, will windows automatically dtetect it? Also normally when we buy a cd-writer, a cd-writing software comes along with it. I was told that instead of installing that software, I should install Nero first. I have used nero before (on my friends pc) and find it really simple. So instead of installing the software that came with the cd-writer, could I instead install nero direstly, or will it somehow cause some errors or some other error realted to the cd-writer?

I recently bought a game (Commandos 3) and while isntalling I got an error : Component transfer error. I was tod that the error is caused because of something related to my cd-rom. I have a dvd-rom (Aopen - 16X DVD and 48X cd read speed) and also a cd-rom (32X). Is something wrong with them? To see if somehting was wrong with the cds themselves, I tried it on another pc and it installs perfectly on them. I also tried to copy them onto another cd and install, but the same error comes at the same precentage!!

Please help me out (for both the questions!!)
