Asked by: jayca

I am Looking for the best laser printer under 300$  I know all the brands and current models,  I am looking for your opinions on which one you like best... some use standard 72 pin memory, somee allow you to refill your own toner 2-3x before you need to buy a replacement.  Some include a drum/toner combo.

Please provide some GOOD information if you have any :)

I am looking to purchase tomorrow!

Thanks,
JC

Hi jayca,

looking at that link, I suggest you to really take a look at the HP LaserJet 1012, I personally have the 1015 at home wich I use, until now, without any problems. Also I have great experience with the HP support at work where we have one 4100 wich had some problems, they where fixed in no time.

This is the one and only comment I'm going to give here as I'm sure others will have other opinions.

Greetings,

LucF

I am partial to HP when it comes to laser printers, too, though I hate their pcs.  I had an HP Laserjet III that worked for 10 years and then I donated it to my church, and it is still going strong.  I have an NEC 1800 right now, but it has disappointed me in a number of ways.  I also have an Epson 1280 for ink jet photos.

I didn't mean to only restrict it to printers on that review :)

I am buying a nice Lexmark tomorrow for Color pics.

I heard HP put a chip in their toner carts to keep you from refilling them yourself..
Minolta1250w,
 Brother1440,
Samsung ML1750, and HP

Anyone have experience with these?

Not true... I replace all toners myself, never seen this...

From your list, the only one I know is the Brother, never used it personnally, but I didn't hear very good things about it, lot's of paper jams :(

This was a freebee... just another €0.02... again, this is just a personal preference, there are a lot of personal preferences possible.

I totally agree with LucF, HP is probably your best option. We have over 150 hp printers in the building and we rarely have problems with them. As LucF also said, they have superb support. We have actually got a 1012 in the building, and (to my knowledge) the user is 100% happy with it. You also get 1 years warranty.

personally, i have a 1210 psc all in one.  Other than having problems loading the driviers (due to a 2.0 USB card) i haven't had any complaints yet.  Ink is easy and cheap to get, and it works as a scanner, printer, and copy machine (also does color copies as well).

Only about $100 at Circuit City.  (also, remember to buy a cable for it, for some reason they don't come bundled with one.)

The quality is quite good, i took a magazine and scanned it to test it.  Almost a carbon copy, and if i had of gotten some better paper it would have looked even better.
