AC97 Intel Motherboard Sound High Pitch

I've got RealTek AC'97 audio card on my PC and all the sounds (like mp3s) are high pitch.  Like 2times speed.  Chipmunk style... any ideas?

lol
that is a setting in sound manager of the ac97
or the faulty driver for win98
update you'r drivers or check the soundcard manager for pitch change make sure it's at Zero an not +1 +2 +3 or -1 -2 -3
there is also a patch available for win98 for this known problem

Hiya happy dog
I had this same problem once with my AC'97 sound device. I had to download the driver for mine on the internet and the pitch was too high, I had downloaded a wrong driver and it did this, so if you have downloaded a drive, double check and see if theres another driver that suits your sound device and try that one.
