ASUS P4S800D mothe board won't recognise USB 2.0 in Windows XP

My ASUS P4S800D mother board won't recognise USB 2.0 in Windows XP.

USB 2.0 support is supposed to be built in to windows XP. but for some reason, all my ports don't recognize 2.0.

When I plug in a USB drive, or any USB 2.0 device, it give me an error saying "High speed USB drive plugged into usb 1.1 slot"

any help would be appreciated
