Browse All TopicsHi All,
I have a Compaq NC8000 Laptop and need to enable the multiple monitor function to work.
I have plugged in a Compaq S720 on the external VGA but cannot get the display properly working.
When I start the laptop I get the startup files displaying on both monitors but when it gets to the Welcome screen it only displays it on the laptop. When I click through the welcome screen I only get the background on the 17" S720 but nothing else. No icons, no nothing just the background. It displays everything fine on the laptop.
So far I've updated the video drivers (ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 Series) but that didn't make any difference at all.
At the moment the laptop is primary 1 and the 17" S720 is secondary 2.
Pressing the identify button verifies this.
I have enabled/ticked "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" on the secondary monitor
and that displays the background only.
When I disable/untick it the S720 goes blank.
Both displays are set to 1024 x 768
Also I can move the mouse to the right of the laptop, and if I keep moving the mouse right, it appears on the S720!!!.
An Urgent solution would be great
Thanks
Rodger
