  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Tough A+ Question

I bought a MOBO and processor
Intel D875PBZ MOBO
P4 prescott processor Intel Pentium 4/ 2.8E GHz 800MHz FSB
The revision on the MOBO that I received will not work with this type of processor. The revision on the MOBO I recieved is C26680-205 on Intel's website it says that I need a C26680-206 revision minimum for this board to work with the  processor I bought. http://intel.com/design/motherbd/bz/bz_proc.htm#Note

Well I assembled my computer system and powered on this board with the processor in it. What I would like to know is if I have done any damage to the processor? I am sending the MOBO back to the company I bought it from but I need to know if I have done any damage to the processor?
