  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. CD ROM SAYS!!! The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.

I always get this error when I try to install ANYTHING from the CD ROM drive...but in particular games...like Thief 3 and Far Cry

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.

Does anyone have ANY idea how to fix this freaking problem cause it's really annoying since I just upgraded EVERYTHING on my computer and now it won't play a freaking game at all.

Ummm...I installed the latest drivers for the CDROM but I can undo that if needed...but it did that before i installed them too...so i don't think it's that, but let me know what ya'll think...thanks
