HP TFT 5600 KVM Console Screen Problem

We have got a HP TFT 5600 KVM Console (http://www.hpstore.hp.co.uk/itemDetails?SID=d8c8b7a822c886e6263565efb2b552657af:1222&sku=221546-031#tech_specs) which we are going to install in a server rack.  I have set up the console on a desk to test it, and it worked fine for a few minutes, but after a while the screen suddenly went dull, like the back light was turned off.  I have tried all the options I can find to get the brightness back up - including the brightness and contrast options (obviously!).  After leaving it switched off for a while, I tried again and the same happened.

I'm not sure if it is something I've done, or if it is a faulty unit.

Any suggestions would be super!

Yea, I thought that... but I thought I better see if anyone could suggest something else I was missing before I logged a call with HP.  It's wouldn't be the first time I've had problems with Compaq/HP TFTs!

If you can still see the text or graphics faintly then there is indeed a backlight failure.

Not too expensive to replace. But they should sort that out for you
