Computer hangs - Overheating?

For the last couple of weeks, my PC has been freezing. Mostly when I play games on it.

PC spec is AMD Athlon 2100 with 1GB ram & a 128mb Nvidia GeForce4 Ti4600

On start up I get the following warning: "Hardware monitor found an error". I've checked system and everything seems fine.

The temperatures are:

MB: 34 C / 93 F

CPU: 87.5 C / 190 F

Is the CPU temp too high?

What could be causing the pc to hang?
