The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. How to boot up BIOS to stop and recognize password lock on the 2nd HDD?

I have a HDD which was my primary for my HP. Has WinXP.  I began getting the 'DISK ERROR. INSERT SYSTEM DISK' screen and was unable to bring up my HP. I bought a new computer hoping I would be able to transfer data from HP HDD to new PC but keep getting the same error.  I tried installing it as a slave on a borrowed XP machine and during the boot up, kept getting the message to enter a password with only 5 tries then it would restart again. Thinking I somehow had a password problem, I reinstalled it as a slave on my old HP but I don't have the same message during the boot up. If my problem is this password, does anyone know what causes the BIOS to ask for the HDD password? I can at least try to crack it with password possibilties if I knew how to get the HP to behave the same as the other borrowed PC. Start Free Trial
