A friend of mine bought a pc recently so that he could build it and learn more about it. We are trying to put it together but are batting 1.000 at not getting it to work.
I am not sure if I can link this, but this is the motherboard that he has:
http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=k8vga-mthis is the case that he has: Powmax 0327-4 CASE...
http://powmax.com/Index.htmchoose cases>gamer cases>bottom left case.
The case comes with the cables that are connected to the audio, the power button and the lights. The layout for the jumpers for the case are:
http://www.powmax.com/PDF/POWMAX%20CASE%20MANUAL.pdfWe have connected everything like it shows, but we have a problem or problems.
As you may note from the link for the motherboard, there is onbaord audio and video.
When we plug the pc in and flip the power switch on the back, the cpu fan immediately comes on. Should this happen??
When we press the power button nothing happens, and the lights for the power button are the only lights that are not on.
BUt more than that, what's weird is that when the cd-rom gets disconnected, the power to the cpu fan gets cut and the fan dies.
We have disconnected everything except for the cpu and we get no beeps, even with no memory.
we have connected only the cpu, the memory and the power button cable to the appropriate jumper and nothing happens, but when the cd-rom gets power so does the cpu fan.
we have never gotten anything to display, video wise.
When you connect cables to the jumpers for the poer button, reset button, etc. should you cover the empty ones that aren't being used???
We are really at a loss and I wish I could tell you more, but I will probably be able to help more by answering the questions you have.
Thanks.
