The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. CPUID

I'm currently working for a NGO (non profit organization), which file and process health information of kids around the 3rd world. Currently we have a problem with our in-house developed application due to the recent upgrade of hardware. 41 of our computers recently upgraded with new motherboard and AMD cpu. Previously it was Intel processor. After the upgrade our in-house developed case filing application doesn't work. It says "This application doesn't support non x86 Processor". As fas as I know AMD is x86 processor. Anyway, to cut the long story short... due to no/poor house keeping we have lost the source code of the application. We contacted the programmer and he said he doesn't have the source code too. But, he said it was his mistake to put the such check on the application as it wasn't necessary at all. Anyway, it is done. Now, we need a way to fool the application to run on AMD. the Only way to do it is to modify vendorstring of CPUID to fool the application as the programmer said application is checking vendorstring. I would like to know how do I physicaly change the VendorString (part of CPUID) for AMD processors. Do you know of any tools that will fool the application or allow us to modify the processor info.
