Solution #1: remove the key, or open the keyboard and cut the leads :)
\CurrentCo ntrolSet\C ontrol\Key board Layout]
,00,00,02, 00,00,00,5 B,E0,38,00 ,00,00,00, 00 <-these last four are different for the other keys, this is for esc.
If you have an intellitype keyboard, Control Panel -> Keyboard -> Key Settings has a list of keys that can then be individually configured.
There is also a microsoft utility called remapkey.exe that you can download from microsoft.
if you are comfortable with registry modification and hex, you can open
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM
and add an entry for "00000409"="KBDUS.DLL"
then type "Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00
