Hi Mario, follow this link and leave all the checkboxes check, type "wpc-0300" without the quotes in the search box and then click search and you will find a list of drivers to download.

http://www.level1.com/support.php

hope this helps

A better option wud be to go to ftp://ftp.level1.com/drivers/drivers_firmware/WPC-0300v2(v1.28.7).zip

There you can download it in 3-4 floavors. WPC-0300v2(v1.28.7).zip is the latest version I suppose for you. However if you go further into the firmware folder you will come across a firmware update for ur card too which you might be interested in having a look at. ftp://ftp.level1.com/drivers/drivers_firmware/firmware/WPC-0300V2(1.28.7)_2003-12-08.zip

Dan the link I listed has all the drivers

by: VantimPosted on 2005-02-23 at 04:55:02ID: 13381618

It shows all the v2 drivers, the firmware, the manual, product info, and the data sheets.  Hmmm... same thing only one page in.

by: mysticaldanPosted on 2005-02-23 at 04:59:52ID: 13381648

Well since he posted that he looked at the homepage and didnt find it so i gave direct links to the files that he might find useful. The default page for the FTP is ftp://ftp.level1.com/drivers/drivers_firmware where all of them are listed and they are quite a bunch so u dont need to search. Just pick ur model and download it. :-)

There is no more searching than you just said .   I omitted the search.  If you type wpc-0300 it gives you all the stuff for that card and that card only.

Just pick ur model and download it.  You don't even have to do that on the link I provided.

You know what?  Fine... I don't care.

Thats fine my friend. I am not saying u gave wrong information. I was just trying to help the person better by providing him with more information to help him out. You shud have also done the same by giving him the exact link to the file. If you made it as far as the search page you cud have gone a step ahead and given him the link too. He wasnt able to find it on the Homepage which is why he posted it here and we are to help him with his problem with the best solution.

I dont care if the points go to you or me or are split. For me it was more a matter of giving him the exact link do that he did the least amnt of work to get what he wanted. Is that not why we are here for?

Dan

by: VantimPosted on 2005-02-23 at 05:22:12ID: 13381811

If you go to my post and follow my directions you'll see it is a direct link to the download page.  There is no direct link to the page I'm talking about.

I agree.   I've said it many times before it's not about the points.

I'm not going to argue the link you posted (the 3rd time, as the first few you listed don't work) gives you pretty much the same thing I posted in the first place.  No more work...No less.

Thats all

I don't think typing 8 characters and pressing a button is more difficult than searching through a whole page of zip files.

I would like to apologize to mariowinkler.  Both of us were just trying to help you and got caught up in a tizzy, at your expense.

I'm very sorry, either solution will provide you with what you need

Well I am not abt to get into an arguement with you here abt this. All i know is if you go to www.level1.com and press English and further to support then it brings you to the support page which you pointed out. Didnt take much effort to lay down the URL link to the file from there. So wheather its abt 5 clicks from you or one line from me its the same. I also FTp'ed to the site to confirm that the drivers actually work and can be downloaded and also for broken links which happens with sites.

Also the links I pasted work perfectly its the Forum software which hasnt inserted them properly. You can copy+paste them to the browser window and they are working just fine.

Its more abt making it easier for the asker than abt clicks here and there. Me and you are irelevant here as long as the Asker gets the maximum ease of use to get what he wants. I know this sounds more like a war of words going on but since me andyou are both new i saw other posts and its considered good ethics to answer the question with as much of detail and clarity as possible so even though we were both saying the same things the matter of presenting it was a lil different. Also since the sites are different where you presented him with a search page i provided hm with the link to the file which eventually got linked from ur page.

I appreciate ur response and would reccomend that u get the points if the asker takes it and if you felt that i gave the same solution that you did then i am sorry for the same.

Dan>>>  I call a truce.  Sometimes us as experts get caught up in our own emotions and get very offended.   I agree that both of us provided the same solution with different methods.  The end result is the questioner gets his problem solved as quickly as possible and with as much information as possible.  Did I get mad...Yes.   Have I gotten over it...Yes.    I felt like you were undermining my answer.  That's why I got mad.  Your right though...You and I are Irrelevent when it comes to the need of the questioner.   We are here to work as a collective not to bicker between us over whose right and wrong ethically.  I just hope Mario understands and continues to use this site to solve problems he has.  It really is the best site to gain knowlege and get help that you would otherwise pay through the nose for.  We (as in you and I) are better than this.

Thanks Dan

Cheers Tim, no war so no need for a truce. You are right we do get caught up sometimes and usually it happens that we cross answer whats already been put on the board. Happens with all of us sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly. Hopefully its abt interpretation and even though you and I are expereinced people who can read between the lines we have to assume that the asker is not that adept which is why he is here asking us and we shud just aim at giving him the maximum number of solutions direct or indirect s long as he can understand it in a simple and easy manner.

We both said the same thing but in a different manner and i am sure Mario wud understand.

No hard feelings. I am glad we are working on the same side.

I wonder though that why wud the links not show up in the forum properly. If you copy paste them in a browser they work fine but once pasted into the forum answer box they wont show up properly.

I guess its a problem with the scripting here :-)
