Firewall advice...

Hi,

I am looking to buy a physical Firewall with its main used being Personal Information Protection. As I understand different Firewalls offer different things (i.e. Port Scanning Protection etc) but the main focus is on preventing (as best as possible) access to financial and otherwise personal data. From the software side I know what to look for but in the physical sense I have no idea where to start. Budget is around £500 - is there anyone who can recommend one or a site that sells/has additional information on them?
