The Solution Rating System

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Crackling sound on ASUS A7V333

Sorry for asking this but I can't seem to view the answers to the multitude of the other "crackling sound" questions without having to pay for it with my non-existant credit card..

The problem I have is that I get a crackling noise from my speakers/headphones. I get the sound even in BIOS and in Windows with no audio drivers installed, therefore I don't think it's a software problem but a hardware related one (most likely since the audio chip isn't very good).
Maybe it's because the IRQ for the audio device is the same as for the NIC and USB controller?
If it could be the latter problem how do I force the sound 'card' to use its own IRQ (the Award BIOS isn't very user friendly when it comes to IRQ management)? Otherwise I'm open to any suggestions.
