The Solution Rating System

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. e-machines peice of non-sense. CPU Fan Failed, No it hasn't!

Hello All,

I have been given an emachines 420 to sort out. When you turn it on all it is displaying is 'CPU fan failed, System needs servicing, Shut Down 5 Seconds' This is intermittent, and I am fed up of it now. I assume it is the motherboard, as the CPU fan is spinning with pride. Short of throwing the peice of rubbish out the window, would you suggest a motherboard replacement? If so which would you recommend? It is an Intel Celeron 2.4 Ghz.
