The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Graphics Card See's Spots and Flickers Wile in Games

Asked by SaLz in Miscellaneous Hardware, Video Cards, Gaming World

Hi, Let me tell you about my GFX Card,

its a 128MB G-Force 4 Ti 4200, the graphics card it self is an amazing Card, had it 3+yrs now, bought it at its Prime on the high end scale.

over the past yr, its been showing its age, like last yr, it was Summer, and very hot, the GFXC Fan Protective Casing, Melted and warped into a Cone Shape.

so here are symptoms..

White/Blue/Orange Large and Small Dots, sometimes they flicker like a xmas tree, sometimes they only flicker when I move.

Large Segments of Walls Flicker, Dots are shown though the walls, Floors Show flickering Pattens.

Sometimes hole Segments of Walls Disapear showing whats behide the wall.

Reason for the sudden change,

I cleaned out my PC, everything is now dust free, Wile I was fixint some stuff, I put my driver on the top of graphics card and what am thinkin is the top just mashed with the sudden connections to diffrent areas of the card.

I smelt something and then I felt the card, only 1 part of the card was burning so hot I couldn't touchy, I paniced and turned off my PC, the part that was hot was.. if you placed the card in the machine, it would be flat, its was the right, outside part near the hard drive.

normally, nothing else would get hot, only the core.

My Fan Doesn't Really Spin around anymore, I got 2 open the case and give it a nudge with the driver.

I had a major Heat Problem, sys=38c cpu=57c, so cleaned everything, took me 5+hrs, and reorganized it for better Air physics, I'd cut out parts of the Casing, Added New Fan Places, the pc now looks like the day I bought it, with the consideration of the new Look.

now the temp is sys=29c cpu=48c

the cpu is a amd PC2400 clocked at 2.0ghz

think I've given enough info.

anyone know how I could fix this problem? I've installed the new gfxc update for this card, I really don't want to go out and by a new card when this card is still perfect without the dots and flickers.

any advice?
