I like this one:
Here is the factory website:http://www.logitec
Do not buy it from them, you can find brand new ones cheaper on ebay or at this link

Nobody's answered your comment about distance for the logitech cordless desktop products. The answer is a LOT less then you're looking for. They're designed to literally be a cordless DESKTOP. With the receiver on the desktop or very close to it. I don't off-the-cuff know what Logitech's stated specs are, but I do know these do not work reliably for more than 5-7 feet.
That's actually by design -- so you can have multiple cordless desktops in close proximity without interference. And they work well in this configuration -- I have two Logitech cordless units in my study (on my desk and on a built-in corner desk) about 8 feet apart and there is NO interference. I'm sure mine are on alternate channels -- but I've seen cubicle-based businesses with dozens of these units in cubicles, and they get no interference.
However ... back to your problem. The Logitech units would work well IF you can run a USB extension cable to the receiver, and preferably place the receiver within a few feet of the keyboard/mouse (it works fine "under" a table mounted velcro'd to the tabletop). Of course, the length of the USB extension cord might require an active extender.
The BEST solution absolutely blows away your budget :) :) --- but it's a REALLY nice product (I've seen/felt/touched) http://www.gyration.com/ul
A REASONABLE alternative, with a 30' range, is http://www.gyration.com/go
This can be bought "on the street" for under $100. (well, I couldn't find it -- but its predecessor model is here: http://www.buy.com/prod/
By the way: The Media Center keyboard/mouse that Callandor referred to might be a good compromise -- it uses the longer-range RF components of the UltraPro series, but a less expensive keyboard & a "mouse" that's part remote-control (this might not be acceptable, depending on what you're using this for). See the details at: http://www.gyration.com/mc
I agree Logitech's Bluetooth desktops will probably work well -- but the LX700 is not one of them :)

Didn't I suggest this already???
Clearly you did - I wasn't suggesting otherwise. Your quote was in the midst of a discussion of ALL of the options, including both those already proposed and a few additional ones I was suggesting. You also did NOT point out that for the length of the likely USB extension necessary it would probably be necessary to use an active extender instead of a simple extension cable.
garycase,
<<You also did NOT point out that for the length of the likely USB extension necessary it would probably be necessary to use an active extender instead of a simple extension cable.>>
Given a USB cable is good to about 14-15 feet, this is the reason I had suggested a 10' cable. Add the length of the cable already on the transmitter/receiver and It should be good without an active extender. Since USB has been around for 7 or so years, I would have assumed that maximum USB cable length was common knowledge.
I had rather assumed that was the case. I think your best options (assuming you don't want to stretch your budget and go with the "BEST" option I suggested earlier, which really is the best solution) are:
(1) the "REASONABLE" alternative (Gyration Ultra) I suggested in my earlier post ($91.99)
(2) the Logitech MX5000 bluetooth desktop from my 3:13pm post ($125)
or
(3) the Gyration Media Center suggested by Callandor with a purchase link in my summary post at 2:00pm post ($158)
Mediapilot Keyboard. Works up to 30' for under $100

I use a Gyration Media Center keyboard and mouse (the mouse looks and works like a remote) and it will work from 25' away. The RF receiver can be moved around for optimal placement.
