CAT 5 - Network Tone and Probe

I need a good toner that will allow me to plug into a user desk port at there desk etc and find it in the server room...  most cables are 100 to 200 ft...     thanks clint

I used the Fluke Networks CableIQ tester with Intellitone Probe.  Works great.  But if you want something cheaper, go with the 77HP, The Tracer with the 200EP Inductive Amplifier by Progressive Electronics.  That works just as well.

I use the test-um resi - tester. Another tone set that we use did not allow us to hear the tone in the noisy server room. The test-um kit can be loud if you need it to be. It also can test cables and show you on the display what wires are connected where.

Is it powerful enough to to hear down the cable 100 - 200 ft..      I have had crappy testers where after 10 ft I couldnt hear the tone anymore????

The longest run that I have done was around 100 - 125 ft and it was loud and clear
