What do you think of my gaming computer, I am getting an AMD FX-55 for christmas cause they are dirt cheap, $130 on newegg right now, and I plan to get the following after christmas to go with it:
Any suggestions appreciated.
Also I hope I am not missing anything important
oh and look for more EE points to come when I try to OC it.
Just to be clear:
No I will not use INTEL!!!!!
No I will not use Nvidia
Yes I will overclock.
no I have never overclocked, well except an intel pc I got at a surplus sale, and found the oc fsb changing option worked in bios.
yes, I am a patient person when it comes to computers and getting them working.
Yes this is my first gaming desktop in a long time, the last was a schweet pII 400 with 6 gigs of hdd and a Voodoo 2 gfx, but I was probably 8.
I also want it to be as heavy as possible and look as crappy as possible so people wont steal it,although people probably wouldn't know what to steal in my room, so no big blacklights and windows...
Noise is no problem, the AC dwarfs the sound from my 2 dual processor dell serves, dual processor percision wkstation, unnamed server, compaq server, and intel itanium SDV 666 mhz running at same time.
I will upgrade to many 80 gigabyte harddrives and run raid 0 (as many as the case will fit)
and yes I know if any fails I loose everything, but I have good backups which worked perfectly when my hp laptop decided my passwords to windows, and my hard drive were not good enough for it, and it disabled my accounts, and decided to not boot anymore, and then wouldn't turn on. Hey I just realised that I actually back up, sortof.
