Right, here goes. I have built PC's before and no problems but now Im getting annoyed with my issue I have now.
I was given a AMD Sempron CPU 64bit 2800, present from someone who got it from China. Proper retail box and everthing.
I then purchased a ASUS mobo K8V-VX. Now the damn thing wont beep on post.
3 things I know of when u get no beeps on post
1. CPU
2. Mobo
3. PSU
well PSU is newish, 600W 24pin, mobo is new, CPU perhaps might be suspect
Anyways, I took the mobo to the shop where I bought it, they told me its fine.
I ordered a new CPU and now trying that, alas no beeps with new CPU!
I accidentally snapped the cpu lock (that stick that u press down and click to secure cpu) - it still works as only a little is snapped. Well I couldnt take that back, so I bought another mobo thinking I might have damaged it in more ways than one.
Well new mobo and new CPU (3000+ Sempron) - again no beeps
Tried another case, still no f-ing beeps.
ASUS mobo's have a light on them and that comes on.
The fan is spinning which perhaps mean the PSU is fine
So assuming I cant have bad luck and the new CPU is not working, what else could be wrong?
No beeps, no video signal either. I have tried with/without memory card/graphics card etc - all combinations I can think off.
I am getting so bloody annoyed now. I might just write off my losses and buy a damn PC.
