Hej,
I guess I am suffering from jet lag still. I didn't check my Maxtor harddisk on another PC as Rindi suggested before I closed the question below. Anyway, it does work just fine on my XP PC. Any ideas why I get the information I show in the first question I had below?

I installed a Maxtor One Touch 4 on my laptop after I had installed Vista Ultimate on Dell Inspirion 9300 in the USA and it worked just fine for several months. I had even taken it home to Sweden 2 months ago and attached it to my son's pc and downloaded movies to it and took the Maxtor back to the USA. I came home to Sweden yesterday and tried to use it today but now my Maxtor doesn't work. Here are the details.
In Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management at the bottom of that window (where it shows the partitions) I see the following;
Disk 0 Basic 55.89 GB Online (2 paritions 94 MB Local Disk (C:) 55.80 GB NTFS Healthy(System....)
Disk 1 Basic 465.76 GB Online (1 partion (E:) 465.76 GB RAW Healthy (Active, Primary Partion)
CD-ROM 0 DVD (D:) No media
When I right click on the Local Disk (C:) partition and select 'Explore" I see my directories and files
When I right click on the (E:) partition a popup window titled "Location is not available" with the error message "E:\ is not accessable The device is not ready"
I have reinstalled the Maxtor software with the same results. I have been searching on the internet and Maxtor site for answer but to no avail. I have a lot of stuff on the drive that I don't want to create again.
Any ideas anyone?
