Does it boot at all (I'm guessing not :( )? If so you can grab the BIOS string for the ID you need.

The board inside has Micro Star and N1996 on the circuit board. I believe the N1996 is a general number. Where do I find the actual manufacter model number.

The Project Number off the mobo would be the most useful

you dont need the exact match you know as long as the replacement has the same chip set and features
to me it looks like a standard micro atx motherboard with hdmi but it has an external graphics card

looks similar and would do
it will be a oem from a chinese factory thats owned by acer probably
like I said previously you dont need the exact match you just need to match the correct characteristics : chipset, memory slots but thats linked to the chipset and expansion slots and that is linked to the m-atx spec really. The on-board vidio is not important as there is an pci-e 16 video card
""chinese factory thats owned by""
Yes, just like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and most others.
Even some [most?] Intel boards are built by Foxcon who is in China.
MicroStar model numbers are usually a "MS" or "MSI" followed by a 4 digit number, such as: MS-6339.
The print is usually small.
Acer makes their own boards but they are usually lazy and just copy a reference design.
The model number is AM5640.
The Acer part number is MB.SAM09.001.
Last I knew [2007?] Acer was sill using G-Luxon capacitors which isn't a good thing even though they aren't used in what Acer considers critical areas. .
As to the suggested board above, Abit dropped out of the motherboard market last year so good luck finding a -new- Abit board [unless some store is cleaning out the back room].

This is a freeware utility that I have used in the past. I'm not certain that it shows them motherboard model. But it very well may as it gives detailed hardware and software information.
