Asked by ericcoz in Miscellaneous Hardware, Windows 7
I am a little confused as it related to the pricing of the 32-bit vs. 64-bit versions of windows. For example, I am interested in purchasing Windows 7 professional (not the upgrade). I was under the impression that there weren't separate versions/prices for 32-bit and 64-bit editions. In other words, i though you could just purchase windows 7 professional and choose which scheme ( 32-bit or 64-bit) to install. But when I go to shop for Windows 7 professional online, some sites are saying for 32-bit only. Is this an OEM vs. retail version difference? Could someone please explain to me in easy to understand terms the details of how to purchase Windows 7 to ensure that I can use 64-bit mode?
