Can a bad pci card break a system

I have two pci tv tuner card that were in a system which was fried due to overclocking the ati video card. Is there any chance that my two hauppauge hdv 1250 pci tv tuners could cause damage to a new system if i insert them?

Should I go out and buy new tv tuner cards, or try these cards in the new system?
