The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Intel 82566 driver in BartPE

We use BartPE for Ghosting PCs, however I can't get it to detect the Intel 82566 NICs in the new Dell PCs.

The machine in question is a Dell Optiplex 755, with the Q35 express chipset and an 82566-DM2 NIC. I've tried adding the latest drivers from the Intel website, the v11.2 drivers that were advised in a forum on the subject, the latest drivers from Dell, and the drivers that are actually installed in XP on the machine currently, but none of them will allow BartPE to see the NIC.

There are some forums around (mostly more to do with RIS than BartPE) that suggest placing the driver files manually in the i386 folder after building Bart, and some versions of the Intel drivers even have alternate .inf files for use with RIS, but I still can't get it to pick the blooming thing up! I've tried building with both XP and 2003 CDs.

Has anyone met this before or has anyone got any ideas?
