The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Dual NIC Connectivity Question

I have a workstation that has 2 NIC cards.  One connects to our LAN for access to shared files and folders and the other card connects to a DSL modem for more stable Internet connectivity, since this  workstation transfers large amount of data upstream to another computer.  

The problem I'm having is that the LAN connection also provides Internet connectivity via a less-stable cable modem connection.  So, at peak usage times on our cable node, the upstream and downstream speeds significantly bog down performance and REALLY slow the machine down to a crawl.  How can I make sure the internet connectivity is handled exclusively by the DSL modem while still allowing connectivity to our LAN's resources?Start Free Trial
