Broadcom NICs are one of the bests.
People love Intel NICs too but you have to install at least one server NIC. Read more at http://www.intel.com/suppo
The team I am configuring is the Link Aggregation right? As I want to balance the load between the two. Or its something else. As if I choose that one and before creating the team I assign the IP addresses to the 2 nic's and once the team is created I assign the IP to the TEAM.
But when I go in the proset and select one of the nic cards and click on test switch it says your switch is configured got link aggregation choose ALP /AFT something like that.
Please guide does the switch needs to be configured for teaming as well and which team is the one I need? Thanks
Adapter Fault Tolerance (AFT)
Allows mixed models and mixed connection speeds as long as there is at least one Intel® PRO server adapter in the team. A 'failed' Primary adapter will pass its MAC and Layer 3 address to the failover (secondary) adapter. Implemented in Microsoft Windows*, NetWare* 4.111 and above, UnixWare* 7.x with ddi8, and Linux* (32 bit). All adapters in the team should be connected to the same hub or switch with Spanning Tree (STP) set to Off.
Adaptive Load Balancing (ALB)
Offers increased network bandwidth by allowing transmission over 2-8 ports to multiple destination addresses, and also incorporates Adapter Fault Tolerance. Only the primary receives incoming traffic. Only the primary transmits broadcasts/multicasts and non routed protocols. The ANS software load balances transmissions, based on Destination Address, and can be used with any switch. Simultaneous transmission only occurs at multiple addresses Implemented in Microsoft Windows* 2000, Windows Server* 2003, and Windows NT 4; NetWare 4.111 and above; UnixWare 7.x with ddi8; and Linux. This mode can be connected to any switch.
I checked all that I even disabled the 192.168.1.3, still its picking that IP address for DHCP server. Logging in seems slower as well. And teaming is actually off right now. Teams are deleted.
Also on the server when I ping the server name it goes to 192.168.1.2
But on clients it goes to 192.168.1.3 and that doesn't respond. I would like it to go to 192.168.1.2 on both sides. I checked the PTR and A Records. What could it be do you kow?

It cannot. This is "desktop" network adapter, not server one.
