Disable Network Teaming OK?

I set up Network Teaming on two Broadcom NetExtreme Gigabit cards on a Dell Power Edge 2950 running Server 2008.

I've noticed a few strange things since then on this server and to make sure that teaming is not the problem I want to disable it.

I see that I can right-click the teaming icon and choose disable.  Before I do that, I plan on unplugging the ethernet cable from one of the 2 physical nics.

I'm hoping I'll just be back in normal pre-teaming mode with a single nic?  Is that correct?  Am I going to have to reboot?  Am I going to have a lot of problems?

Breaking the team should bring them back to whatever config they had before you teamed them.

Unplugging one and breaking the team shouldn't cause any problem

You should break the team first don't disable. Also, when you break the team you will lose network connectivity. I have ran into some issues with the Dell 2950 make sure you have the most updated verison for the drivers and Broadcom software.

If you have Solaris machines you could cause network communcation errors if you just unplug one network card.

How do I "break the team"?

If its an Intel or Broadcom NIC there should be a management application that is what was used to create the team.  Otherwise there might be a tab in the NIC properties.

If you look by your Time in you should see a icon for the Broadcom Utility that Dell 2950 have this is where you break the team.
