I have an IBM X41 laptop which has a Intel 2200BG wireless card.
It was working fine under XP SP2, but our system engineering dept gave me a new image with XP SP3. That's where the problems begin.
The laptop wireless works fine whilst docked and works fine immediately after been docked. Upon reboot undocked, the wireless card comes up with a code 10 error and an exclamation mark. It remains in this state until it is redocked and restarted (or docked and booted from cold).

The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
If I remove and reinstall the device, it's fine until the next undock\reboot .
I've gone back to the last 4 revisions of the driver. Same issue.
I have updated to the latest bios. same issue
I have installed the latest chipset drivers. same issue
The XP SP2 image is fine. The laptop NIC is therefore fine. I have this problem on all my x41 laptops within my fleet. The system engineering team doesn't see it as a priority and do not have access to the image pre sysprep.
I thought it might be related to the hardware profiles or some screwed up registry key.
Any help is appreciated?
