T1 Junction to Router

Hello everybody,

I have an urgent question.  I have to run a cable from a T1 junction to a router.  Can I use regular old CAT5e to do this?????

If the T1 terminates to another device then yeah you usually run a cat5e cable from that device to your router. Depending on the device you could also connect it to your router with a serial cable.

ok, the situation is as follows:

The telephone company came out and dropped in t T1 line to a junction.  the bottom of the junction has a T1 out jack. (looks like RJ45)  I need to run a cable from the to a router.  Hopefully this helps, Thanks in advance for the help!!!

A T1 port is just a little bigger than an rj-45 port so you will need a T1 cable. You should consult the telco to verify which type of cable to use.
 
If you plug an rj-45 into the port and it does not fit snug then its a T1 port.

Well, I made a hard loop back plug with CAT5e and (RJ45) to verify a good connection and that worked.  Does that change anything???

You can use standard CAT5 patch cable between the telco demarc equipment and your router. No problem.
